The Makeup Travel Kit

There are two types of "tweeters:" the ones that post every second of movement, and the ones that slack off...all the time, and rarely mention more than their latest post. Unfortunately, I fall into the latter category, and, therefore, you're most likely oblivious to the fact that I've spent the last five weeks at a summer ballet program, away from my natural habitat--my home. You'd be surprised at how much stuff you need for five weeks; when it came to packing, I trotted around my bedroom and threw in everything, basically. But the makeup front was a more selective process. As much as I wanted to bring all three (okay, all seven) of my base options, I cracked the whip on my mental state and narrowed everything down to only the nitty gritty necessities. I've taken a little inspiration from my friend, Elizabeth (who blogs over at My Cup of Tea), and I decided to share what I totted along. Here's what I packed.

  1. Hey Lillian! a very concise bag actually given you were gone for 5 weeks! How was the program? Are you back home now?

  2. Packing and choosing what to bring really stresses me out. I don't like not having access to everything that I own, haha. You seem to have managed really well though! I hope the program was everything you hoped for! It does sound amazing :)

  6. This looks like such a great selection! I love seeing what people pack for trips.

Did you enjoy the ballet program? It's so awesome that you've committed to something you love.

Also, your friend Elizabeth's blog makes me miss studying abroad *so* badly. Scotland was one of my favorite places.

  8. Picked up the Tarte blush in Tipsy last weekend because of you and dang, girl. I can't stop using it!
I'm taking this list of products here and turning it into a shopping list. I can't go wrong following your recommendations.

Hope you've been enjoying your summer ballet program! xx

  10. Haha, I'll join in on your Sephora ban. Unfortunately, though, it seems like I'm running out of loads of things at the moment, so I guess I'll turn to the drugstore. x

  15. AH, that always happens when I set a ban as well. I was doing well until Sephora sent me a newsletter. Darn.

  17. Love these! I'm a new follower of your blog so sorry if you have already made a blog post about this but could you maybe do a post on your top 5 to 10 mac eyeshadows. I really want to make up my own quad but I'm not sure what shades to choose for it.
