Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer | Review

First it was haircare, and now it's primer. I'm converted. It's an extra step that's worth it--you know, slapping an extra makeup product on your face when you're anything but awake may not be your cup of tea. But, what if it made your makeup last longer, look better, control those oils, and hide any warning signs of your dehydrated dermis.

My recent primer love? The Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer*. A silicon based, white gel that...basically does everything you'd ever want. It's smoothing ingredient means that it (you guessed it) smooths over skin. Plus, it makes makeup glide on even better. Whether you're an oil-slick prone gal or one with a parched complexion, this primer will work for you. Sounds too good to be true, non? Well, it's neither matte, nor radiant, just an added layer over your skin to rid of makeup-meltdown worries.
Now, the most memorable part--the lasting power. Upon first trial, my day had lasted a good nine hours and it had been the same amount of time since I last looked in a mirror. Scary, I know. But, one quick glance and I knew this stuff was good. My daily slap looked just as good then as it did the morning I applied it. Score!

So, are you sold yet on the fact that adding a primer may turn your world upside down. Maybe if you try this one.

  4. I love primer, but I hate ones that are silicone based. That said, I used to love their fx (or whatever the name is) foundation, so I might give this a whirl. So handy that you can buy travel size versions of them now.

  7. I know, right--although it does encourage far too many sneaky purchases. I know what you mean about silicon. It seems so artificial. xo

  8. The original one is basically ALL silicone. It totally broke me out the first day I wore it, although my makeup looked amazing with it on! It was so sad! If you don't break out easily, try the original. I really love this one, though.
