Origins Beauty

Go on - have a peek through the 'Parisian To Be' archives. Chances are you've laid eyes upon loads of posts that mention the name 'Origins'. Yes, it's true - I'm a self confessed lover of the brand. It's far and few between that I've been disappointed by an offering and my stash of the stuff is rather large. Hear ye, hear ye - I'm here to state my Origins love affairs.

The brand's philosophy of capturing botanical extracts, oils, and all natural stuff to concoct effective skincare is pretty spell bound, wallet dizzying. As a warning, although I love everything, everything, and everything, Origins isn't for everyone - but don't rob yourself the goodness, so get yourself some samples.

I'll begin with the obvious choices - Vitazing and the Make A Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment. I've written love letters to both in the past, but here's a short recap - think of Vitazing as your two in one, makeup and skincare hybrid. A dose of moisture, dewy glow, and healthy looking tint. As for the Make A Difference, it's a rather new addition to my stash, but applied right after serum, pre-moisturizer, it's a 'must have' for anyone suffering from dehydration, as it will miraculously clear your skin.

My first Origins purchases were the Dr. Weil Mega Bright Serum and Super Spot Remover. Both gathered during the days of being a skincare schumck, I've discovered better things, but I still think they're rather great. Although the Spot Remover sits unloved (I think it's for the better...), I've implemented the serum into my morning routine. I can't quite vouch for it's 'mega brightening' properties, but, for gals suffering from dryness, I think this would make a nice serum for you.

Another must have for dry skinned and the rest of the needy skincare crowd alike is the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. In the winter months, I had to strap on the handcuffs so that I wouldn't slap the stuff on chaque nuit, but the ├╝ber hydrating, glow inducing formula is perfect for a midweek pick-me-up or snowy staple. As one with combination skin, I prefer its pairing with the Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask - a ridiculously detoxifying mask that, like the name suggests, will induce 'clear improvements' from spots and general congestion.

For a more daily cure from clogged pores, I'd recommend the High Potency Night A Mins Moisturizer. I've got the oil-free version (perfect paired with the Make A Difference Treatment), but I've got a friend who loves the regular version just as much. With salicylic acid and other glow-getters, you'll wake up to clearer and more healthy looking skin in no time. I wasn't too keen on the stuff for the winter months, but now that we're full-on into summer, it's back with a vengeance. Alas, Origins' genius makeup range which mends the two best things of the beauty world means that you won't have to look to any other brand to fit your face (but we know that this will never happen, as we're far too experimental). Nevertheless, their Plantscription Anti Aging Concealer is at the top of my concealer stocks. Although I'm not in need of it's wrinkle ridding properties, it works fantastically for all over the face - bags, spots, scars, and all.

And now--the new thing. Introduce the No Puffery Cooling Roll-On to the 'Parisian To Be' stocks. Is it cooling? Oh, yeah. And, in fact, I'm not quite sure I survived the mornings without it. Don't worry, there's a whole ode to it in the making.

If you haven't already gathered, Origins is one of my favorite brands. Somehow, I always find more things from there counters to add to my stash (as if I need anymore). Albeit, say hello to natural, yet still effective skincare's match--delivered to you, straight from heaven.

  1. Ahh love origins.
Everyone seems to be talking about the no puffery eye roll on recently. It sounds amazing because my eyes have been so puffy recently.

  2. I finally got the courage to change my skincare around this year, and I officially became an Origin lover! I wish I tried the products out a lot sooner because my skin haven't look and felt this amazing in so long. I think I'm going to add VitaZing and High Potency Night A Mins Moisturizer to my wishlist now!

  3. Origins and La Roche Posay are the only two brands that I can honestly say make a definite and noticeable difference to my skin. I love the brand's philosophy and the fact they actually make products that WORK xx
