So far, we've stopped by the bog standard drugstore, stocked with French pharmacy brands. Nevertheless, without a doubt, there's something missing when it comes to the cozy, friendly, and (dare I say) cute factors. Yet, a stop by New London Pharmacy in Chelsea and all of these boxes - and more - will be ticked.
In laymens's terms, I made the trek on a lazy ol' Sunday and my Aunt and Uncles's jaws dropped at the thought of me spending three hours wandering around the twenty by twenty foot space. Now, I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but the time accounted is right on track and, if permitted, I would have spent the rest of my day there as well.
This place really is a gem. Cozy, comforting, yet undeniably chic (and complimented by a friendly black cat...I know, I know) - it's aesthetically an old-school pharmacy, but WAIT until you hear about the brands inside. Get your cup of joe, because this is a long one - Mavala, Davines (Italian haircare brand with looveely packaging), Aromatherapy Associates, Burt's Bees, RMS (yes, I know. And the Living Lumanizer has been added to the top of my birthday list), Kevyn Aucoin, Bioderma *gasp*, Embryolise, Essie (including the non-diffusion line shades), Butter London, Nuxe, La Roche Posay, Avene, Eve Lom, REN, Vichy, Mason Pearson, Bumble and bumble, Oribe, Redken, Tokyo Milk, Tocca, Dr. Hauschka, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. All other stocked brands are listed on their website, and, luckily for me, there's an online shopping option...score!
If you're ever in the NYC area, a stop off at New London is a must. But, just as a cheeky tip, either (A) bring savings in tow or (B) fasten your wallets. I, for one, followed tip 'A' - thus, a report on my beauty purchases will show sometime within the next week. So, check back. And, please, visit the New London website...for your own good...
