The skincare ramblings continue, but in a more collective fashion - my morning skincare routine.
These are the group of products that I slap on before I head out the door, all resulting in a look sans blurry, puffy eyes and icky skin. Nevertheless, it's quick and simple enough for everyday.
After I've hopped out of the sheets, I head straight to the bathroom to get my cleansing sorted. First, I spritz a bit of Rose Water on dry skin, as inspired by this video. The point: to "soften" the skin to receive the cleanser. At the moment, I'm using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - a no frills, simple option. I like it because it's really gentle and doesn't really do anything other than cleanse the skin...which I don't mind for mornings. As soon as I use this up, though, I think I may dive into a milk for a more hydrating option. Lastly, to prep the skin and gently exfoliate, I pop a bit of Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Brightening Toner on a cotton pad and smooth it all over my face. This is a rather recent addition to my routine, but je l'adore. A review on it specifcally will come later, but I think it would be great for sensitive skin that needs a bit of exfoliation to help any sort of issue you've got going on.
After skin has been prepped and cleansed, I start chucking on the moisture. A pea sized amount of the Lierac Diopti Calm Anti-Fatigue Eye Balm and Mask (review here) cures puffiness and adds a dose of moisture. Then, I layer on the Origins Vitazing Moisturizer (standard, eh?). I just love this stuff...I really do. It adds just the right amount of moisture and I love the tint. In fact, I just started my second tube of the stuff today. Then, I throw on an SPF. I never thought that this was a necessary step, but I recently realized one day after some unexpected time in the sun, that my little brown marks were showing up on my skin. Perhaps that's not the most visually pleasing image, but, to make a long story short, I've been layering on the La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra-Light Sunscreen Fluid every day. This is just a sample size and what I'm using at the moment, but I'll keep you posted if I pick up anything else.
Ah, the morning roundup of tip top cleansers, moisturizers and sun protection. Believe it or not, this takes me about five minutes each day...pas mal. Anyways, j'aime skincare.
