Über simple makeup mavens alike bask in the glory that is Laura Mercier. I'm not quite sure whether it's the dewy bases, barely there blushers, or slightly shimmery eye colors, but everything lined along the shopper's guilt counters screams chic, natural makeup...now that's right up my alley.
For me, it's no surprise that I've picked up more than one Mercier must-have - each earning a prime spot right in my stash. It's no wonder all liquids, powders, and creams meld effortlessly together, resulting in multiple one branded faces in my roster.
The cult Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free was the first of my purchases. Having documented my initial thoughts here, it became my dewy, natural base of choice. As time progressed, my skin was becoming more dehydrated and needed a bit of primer underneath to keep the shine and water absorption at bay. Enter the Foundation Primer Oil-Free - the primer aimed at dehydrated, oily skin (sound familiar?). Initially, I tried it under other bases such as the Dr. Jart BB Cream, but it left me scratching my head, wondering if the stuff really made a difference. Then I tried with the tinted moisturizer. Come 1:00, there was no shine or patchiness...just pure dew. A match made in heaven? Oh yes, but you haven't heard about the blusher. Perhaps that statement is a bit ironic considering I mention in pretty much every post on the blog, but the Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper tops the whole look off. I love blusher and I need more than one hand to count the number I've got laying around, but Peach Whisper is easily the most reached for, pigmented, powder in my stash.
So the tale of the Laura Mercier visage has been told. Any recommendations are joyfully welcomed. Next week? Same time? At the Mercier counter? I'll start saving my cash...
