You may know by now that I'm embracing the subtle 'spring like' weather, yet how ironic it is that I'm jetting off to a snowy location for a good ski vacation. Me and snow boots may to go together like me and beauty, but we'll put that theory to the test.
I haven't been a plane since the summer, i.e. the pre-skincare era. The whole travel beauty essential thing is rather new to me, so I looked to the queen of beauty herself, Lisa Eldridge, for some tips. With her help and my wallet (huhumm), I've compiled my own hand luggage beauty essentials.
You know me and my light bases, so I've brought along the Dr. Jart Waterfuse BB for the easiest base on the planet with a good dose of hydration....blended in with no other than the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I do love some sheer coverage, but I don't have perfect skin...especially at the moment. I've rediscovered my love of the Bobbi Brown Touch Up Stick - creamy, covering, and easy to apply. Onto my squinty eyes, the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, Maybelline Full ' n Soft mascara, and Rimmel ScandalEyes Nude Eyeliner are the everyday essentials that have their names written all over sticky notes around my house. To calm the 'werewolf' brow situation, the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Granite adds a bit of definition and color in one. To save a little space, I'll use the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé for a creamy lip and cheek multitasker.
I'm not the best flyer, so I always carry around the trusty old Dramomine...not too chic, but I'm not sure getting sick is better. Regardless, hopefully perhaps my maturity is evened out by a mini of the Balenciaga FloraBotanica Perfume. My hands get quite dry, not to mention how dry they will get with all that cold weather, so I've been sure to pack the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, Aveda Hand Relief Cream, and the Bath and Body Works Pocket Bac in Peach Bellini to bust those germs.
Onto more of the skincare bits- Did I mention an 'in flight facial' will be in the works? I plan on applying the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask in the morning and keeping it on all throughout flights and layovers, refreshing in between with the Caudalie Grape Water and tone at the end with the Caudalie Beauty Elixir (a reunion that I will fully enjoy). The Beauty Elixir will also serve as my toner while I'm gone. Of course, the Bioderma and my trusty ol' Origins Super Spot Remover get chucked in the bag without a doubt. The Origins Ginzing Eye Cream and Blistex Lip Medex ought to keep my peepers and lips moisturized and juicy all throughout.
For now, I must be off to print my boarding passes, but keep your eyes out - my next post will be a peek into my makeup and toiletry bag.
