Une Nuit de Ballet | The Sunday Post

What could be more French than a night at the ballet. Although no crépes nor champagne were in sight (thank god), with Marc Jacobs bag and opera glasses in tow (not really, but you get the idea), off I went, pirouetting and jeté-ing all the way.

The focus of my face, a red lip *gasp*, but as natural as a red lip could get with a little help of the Korres lip butter in Wild Rose.

For base, I went pretty simple and easy. A bit of the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in linen, as I wasn't really in the mood for an all over dewy look...plus, this has a bit more coverage than the Laura Mercier, which I used to my advantage, especially considering the sun was setting. To add some shape to my more than football like face, some Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium and a bit of Laura Mercier Peach Whisper to add a bit more je ne sais pas to the cheeks. To add a bit more dewiness, Benefit Girl Meets Pearl, and boy - can you say DEWY!

Now onto more interesting things... Keeping the brows natural and très elégant with en peu of Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Granite - surprise surprise. Brightened up with the Rimmel ScandelEyes Kohl Kajal in Nude for my tired, red eyes -  tah dah! After a curl of the eyelashes, an amp up in the volume and length category is in store, all thanks to an ode to the Dior Lash Plumping Serum. A quick coat, or two of Maybelline Full' N Soft (perhaps my all time favorite mascara), and flirty lashes get a A+...too bad my companion was only my friend, Sophie. Flirty lashes, took second string, though, as soon as the moisturizing, rose goodness of the Korres lip butter in Wild Rose hit my lips. Kissably soft, yet not too kissable unless you want red pigment all over you!

On the more miscellaneous front, yet oh so still beauty related - perfume goes to Tocca Stella and the Bumble and bumble Surf Spray helped me create a messy pony. Working gloves off...

Avoir et merci to the ballet.
